Deanna Paolucci, (H)B.A., LL.B.
Founder & Counsel
Deanna Paolucci (she/her) brings a diverse and unique legal perspective to her career, in that she has worked with a variety of legal systems from around the world before gaining legal experience here in Ottawa. From criminal defense work in Australia, to international law for a German law firm, to working with the Somali pirates in Kenya with the UNODC, Deanna was educated through a variety of experiences in many unique circumstances.
Deanna obtained a B.A. Honors degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University (2006) and an LL.B. from the University of Notre Dame (2011). She then obtained her Canadian law equivalency through the successful completion of the NCA exams (2013) and was called to the Bar by the Law Society of Upper Canada (2014). Deanna is a Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public, and is also a government appointed Children's Lawyer through the Office of the Children's Lawyer.
When not practicing law, Deanna enjoys woodworking, yoga, travelling, and spending time with family.
Melissa Elizabeth Eberly, M.A., J.D.
Melissa Elizabeth Eberly (she/her) graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa in June 2017 and became a member of the Law Society of Ontario in June 2018. Prior to studying law in Ottawa, Ontario Melissa earned a Master of Arts degree from the Institute on Globalization and the Human Conditions at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Melissa’s interest in immigration law was first sparked in 2007 through an internship with the International Catholic Migration Commission in Geneva Switzerland, and Melissa continued working in immigration as a law student with Community Legal Services of Ottawa. Melissa is currently the Secretary to the Board of the Catholic Centre for Immigrants Foundation. Melissa has now practiced immigration law for over five years with a small immigration law firm, developing extensive immigration experience.
Melissa is delighted to join Paolucci Law as an immigration and family law lawyer. In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her partner and her furry felines Doodle and Neil. Melissa is also an avid commuter cyclist, home cook and baker.
Tasha Stansbury, (H)B.A., J.D., LL.M.
Tasha Stansbury (she/her) is passionate about social justice and employs an inclusive client-centred approach in all of her work. She has a wide variety of professional and academic experience which enriches her legal practice. Tasha is a Barrister and Solicitor and was called to the Bar by the Law Society of Ontario in 2023.
Tasha is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Ottawa, with her research focusing on food law, environmental law, and human rights. She holds an LL.M. from the University of Ottawa (2021), a J.D. from the University of Windsor (2020), and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Equity Studies from the University of Toronto (2016). Tasha also teaches part-time at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and the Carleton University Faculty of Law and Legal Studies.
When she’s not working, Tasha can usually be found either curled up on the couch with a novel or exploring the outdoors with her rescue dogs, Ciri and Geralt.
